PinPotha is a free app to record Pinkams. We do not sell your data. You can request deletion at any time.

1) What PinPotha is

PinPotha (පින් පොත) is a digital merit book to help you record your Pinkams (meritorious deeds) and reflect on them. A “Pin Potha” is traditionally used to keep a record of wholesome deeds in Sri Lankan Buddhist practice.

2) Information we collect

Account information: email, user ID, display name, and profile photo (if provided) for sign-in and sync.
Pinkam entries you create: title, description, date, category, visibility, and related notes.
Targets/reminders: reminder schedules, frequency, and categories you select.
Images/attachments (optional): photos you upload for a Pinkam.
App preferences: language and theme settings stored on-device.
Usage & diagnostics: analytics events and crash reports (e.g., app version, device/OS info, and crash traces) via Firebase Analytics and Crashlytics.
Local caching: Firestore may cache data on your device to improve performance and reduce network usage.

3) How we use information

Provide core app functionality (save, display, search, and share your Pinkams).
Sync and back up your data across devices when you sign in.
Schedule reminders you set in the app.
Maintain security and prevent abuse.
Fix bugs and improve app performance (diagnostics and analytics).

4) Data sharing

We do not sell your personal data. We only share data:

With service providers (e.g., Firebase Auth, Firestore, Storage, Analytics, Crashlytics) strictly to operate the app.
With sign-in providers you choose (Apple or Google) to complete authentication.
When required by law, or to protect users’ safety and the app’s integrity.
If you explicitly choose to share content (e.g., sharing a Pinkam via the system share sheet).

5) Data retention

We keep your data for as long as your account is active. You can delete individual entries anytime in the app. When you delete your account, we delete your Pinkams, user summary, and profile data. Images stored in Firebase Storage may take additional time to be removed or remain if previously shared externally.

6) Your choices & rights

Delete entries: remove Pinkams in-app.
Account deletion: delete your account in-app or email support@pinpotha.app.
Notifications: you can disable reminder notifications in device settings.

7) Security

We use reasonable safeguards (encryption in transit, access controls, and secure storage where applicable). No method of storage or transmission is 100% secure, but we work to protect your data.

8) Children’s privacy

If you believe a child has provided personal information without a guardian’s consent, contact us to remove it.

9) Changes to this policy

We may update this Privacy Policy. We will post the updated version on this page with a new effective date.
